The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is set to receive a major makeover with the appointment of acclaimed interior designer, Sarah Reynolds, as the new Commissioner of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Minister for the NDIS, the Hon. Emma Thompson, made the announcement earlier today, stating that Reynolds’ keen eye for detail and impeccable taste will bring a fresh perspective to the oversight of the NDIS.
“Sarah Reynolds is not your typical choice for this role, but her track record of transforming spaces and creating beautiful, functional environments speaks for itself,” Minister Thompson said.
Reynolds, known for her work on high-end residential and commercial projects, expressed her excitement about the opportunity to apply her design expertise to the NDIS.
“Creating a safe and welcoming environment for NDIS participants is crucial, and I am eager to bring my skills to the table to ensure that everyone involved in the scheme feels supported and secure,” Reynolds said.
In addition to her design credentials, Reynolds has also been recognized for her commitment to accessibility and inclusivity in her projects. Minister Thompson believes that Reynolds’ passion for creating spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional will greatly benefit the NDIS.
“Sarah Reynolds’ unique perspective and creative vision will be invaluable as we work to improve the quality and safety standards of the NDIS. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the scheme,” Minister Thompson added.
As the NDIS undergoes this period of transformation, Reynolds is eager to collaborate with stakeholders and participants to ensure that their needs are met.
“I believe that good design has the power to enhance people’s lives, and I am committed to ensuring that the NDIS reflects this principle in all aspects of its operations,” Reynolds said.
Reynolds will officially take on her role as Commissioner of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission next week, signaling a new era of innovation and design-led thinking for the scheme.
